                                             Charging Policy for School Activities

The governors of Southway Primary School have agreed a policy on charging for school activities and visits stating that 'in order that a proposed activity cantake place it will be necessary to ask for voluntary contributions. Unless sufficient contributions are forthcoming then the activities or visits will not be able to go ahead'.
We hope that parents will make every effort to support educational visits as these are an integral part of the children's learning activities. If there are specific financial difficulties parents are asked to contact the Headteacher. The school is  able to help parents on income support with residential trips.
We usually have one educational visit each term.

                                                                             Meals

High quality school dinners, together with a drink are prepared in the school's own kitchen and eaten in the adjacent dining area. Mrs. Sandra Corbett is our cook and is pleased to talk to parents about dietary requirements. Dinner money is payable on Monday morning and children are expected to stay for a complete week. Should you wish to change these arrangements a week's notice is required.
You may prefer to provide your child with a packed lunch, but for Health and Safety reasons children must not bring glass drinks containers. Water is provided for everyone, in the dining hall.
Free school meals are provided for children whose parents receive income support. An application form can be obtained from the secretary.
In the interest of health we discourage the bringing of snacks and sweets at break time, but we do however permit children to bring a piece of fruit.
