Homework
Homework
is given to children during the autumn and spring terms. This keeps parents
informed of the work being undertaken at school usually being a follow
up to class work or a set learning activity e.g. learning tables or spellings.
Severe Weather Conditions
We
will attempt to keep the school open and running normally at all times.
If conditions get very bad, the following steps may be taken:-
a)
Parents may decide to collect their children early by coming into the school
and taking them. Children otherwise would not be sent home alone before
the normal finishing time of 3.00 p.m.
b)
If it becomes necessary during the day to close the school we would notify
you through an official announcement on Plymouth Sound Radio. Your children
would still be kept at school until you collect them or until normal finishing
time of 3.00 p.m.
c)
If a decision was made in advance that the school would not open on a given
day you would then be notified:-
1) by letter via your child if the decision was made
in school hours.
2) by an official announcement on Plymouth Sound if the
decision was made outside school hours.
If
you are in any doubt about the school being open please check with the
school before leaving your child.
Parental Help
Parents
are very welcome to help in school, as this is an important feature of
partnership. Parents already help with a variety of activities in classes
and help us provide quality learning experiences.
If
you are willing to lend a hand or feel you have particular skills which
may be of use, we would initially suggest that you contact your child's
class teacher.
Medicines/Drugs/Inhalers
Normally
a child should not have any type of medication in school. However, if a
doctor has prescribed a course of treatment , which needs to be administered
during a school day could please, sign a 'Medicine in School' form which
is available from the secretary so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
We cannot give un-prescribed medicine.
