Instrumental Tuition
The
school is able to offer guitar lessons at a small termly cost. A peripateticmusic
teacher comes each week to teach children in small groups. If you
areinterested please contact the school for details.
Insurance
Children
are insured against injuries caused by building defects and accidents,
which occur as a result of negligence by a member of the Authority's teaching
or support staff.
Children
attending the Authority's schools and colleges are not insured against
personal injury or accident while on Education Authority premises or taking
part in recognised activities outside the schools.
The
Council expects all employees and children to accept full responsibility
for their personal possessions including money and to consider taking out
insurance themselves to cover any risks.

Primary Association (S.P.A.)
The
School enjoys valued support from this organisation whose aims are:-
a)
To encourage all parents and guardians to play a full part in the life
of the school.
b)
To promote and foster the establishment of contacts between parents for
their mutual help and advantage.
c)
To promote activities of a social and educational nature.
d)
To raise funds to support projects that will benefit the school, it's pupils
and staff, the association's members and other such projects as may be
decided by the general committee of the Association.
Membership-
All parents and guardians of the pupils of Southway Primary School will
automatically become full members of the Association for as long as their
children are pupils of the school.
Any
other person may become an Associate Member on application to thegeneral
committee. Associate Members will have the same full rights of membership,
and the support of the extended community is welcomed.
